Abuse and Trauma Resolution Coaching is a healing modality I offer to individuals who have experienced abuse and/or trauma and desiring to work through its impact in order to live a whole and healed life. Areas I specialize in include (click on any of these topics for further information):

*It is important to note that many individuals have dealt with many of these issues simultaneously or at different points in their lives and therefore experience C-PTSD and other symptoms of trauma and abuse.

What approaches do you use?

Though I am a very eclectic therapist and coach, meaning I draw from all modalities and theories, there are specific modalities that I have found particularly helpful for working with issues of trauma and abuse:

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS)
  • Psychoeducation
  • Structural Disassociation Model
  • Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR)*
  • Narrative Medicine and Therapies
  • Somatic Experiencing
  • Embodiment Practices
  • Boundaries and Co-Dependency
  • Mindfulness
  • Guided Imagery
  • Affect Regulation and Modulation
  • Grief work
  • Creating Safety in the Body and Environment
  • Assertiveness Training and Communication
Again, I recognize that each individual is unique in their experiences and needs; I am committed to helping you find out what is most effective for you! *Due to some of the interactive nature of EMDR interventions and its use of bi-lateral stimulation (BLS), and coaching being an online format of healing, I use components of EMDR with many clients as well as different forms of BLS (as opposed to traditional eye movements or tappers) both in session as well as out-of-session growth work.

How do I get Started?

We will begin with a 30 minute clarity call which allows us a bit of time to get to know each other. During that call we will briefly discuss your story/experiences and the areas you are wanting to work through as well as what coaching may look like for you. We can also discuss logistics (e.g. payment, scheduling) and, if you feel ready after our call, can get an appointment on the calendar. After the clarity call and setting of the first appointment you will receive an email with a link in it for you to fill out some paperwork prior to our first meeting. The paperwork includes my coaching policies as well as some questions about you and basic demographic information—it shouldn’t take you more than 10-15 minutes! Typically a coaching session is 50 minutes long; this is considered a clinical hour. However, our first session will be 90 minutes long; I have found that the extra time allows us to dig in to your story and experiences and develop a direction for healing. Subsequent sessions are 50 minutes long; longer sessions are available upon request.

How much does it cost?

Each session is $155/session if paid by credit card; I offer a $5 discount (total of $150/session) if paid by cash, check or Venmo). A valid credit card must be kept on file for purposes of paying for the session or in the chance of not showing up for the session. While most individuals prefer to pay for their sessions as they go, some clients like to pay for several sessions at a time. I am open to whatever payment schedule is amenable to you! Your first coaching session is 90 minutes long and is $225 if paid by credit card (or $220 if paid by Venmo).

How do I Meet with You?

The beauty of coaching is that it can be done from wherever! I reside in Nashville, TN, so clients who live in Nashville or are traveling through Nashville are welcome to come in for in-person sessions at my office. Most of my coaching clients, however, live all over the country and even the world! For non-Nashville clients we will meet either on the phone or through a video format called Zoom (which is HIPPA compliant). Video sessions are preferred as being able to see facial expressions, read body language and have a face-to-face conversation is ideal. However, like the rest of this process, we will find a medium that is most comfortable for you!

Working with me as your coach

My personal philosophy of coaching mirrors my philosophy of therapy: each individual is unique in their experiences, symptoms and healing journey. Therefore, I am committed to working with you to find modalities and healing interventions that work for you. I combine my knowledge and experiences of these different issues to create a treatment plan that is unique and effective for you. While many coaches work within a specific timeframe (e.g. 6 months), I have found that it is impossible to put a time limit on how fast or slow healing can occur; how long we work together is an ongoing conversation between the two of us. I do make a recommendation that if it fits within your schedule and budget, having a session on a weekly basis for the first two months tends to be the most helpful. However, if this does not work for you, we will design a plan and schedule that does.
